I first saw Jesco on a PBS documentary about 17 yrs ago and just recently came across him again . From Boone Co. WV this man is your stereotypical hillbilly redneck . He and his family are hilarious and his 15 minutes of fame came from the PBS documentaries and a guest appearance on the old Rosanne Barr show . Check out Jesco on these videos , the sloppy eggs is a classic . These clips just give a small glimpse into the man that is Jesco , if you ever get the chance to see the whole documentary , by all means treat yourself .

Was gonna mention Tom Costa he absolutely loved this guy and showed the videos at least twice a semester, he went to West Virginia and found him just so he could meet him personally.

Oh man! My friends and I loved watching those videos in World History with Costa. They were so insane! Jesco White has huffed way too many chemicals. Costa was always a bit off-centered when I was at CVC/UVa-Wise. But he was one of my favorite profs. I haven't been there in almost seven years and I saw him on campus recently, and he still remembered my name.

wills and costa wasted alot of my money at CVC watching Jesco videos, but they are hilarious. i'm not convinced that Jesco isn't staged. i didn't believe 7 years ago that anyone was that backwards. i still don't believe it today. there's no way.

It is hard to fathom that people are that backwards. But I have seen others (in this area) just as backwards or worse. They do exist! (They think Applebee's is fine classy dining - the fanciest they've ever seen, and Wal-Mart is upscale.... you know the type)
Along the lines of what you're saying though, I think the media attention helped inflate his backwardsness a smidge perhaps.
